EDG 500 Meredith Seeley Book Review eon the Locust Slept By beam of light Razor October 27, 2008 While the Locust Slept is a book written by bastard Razor detailing his manner while a guard of the aver of Minnesota. This heart gripping story begins as a young child and continues on through his adult life now. He recounts many instances of abuse, neglect, two separate attempts at escaping and a brutal farm indenture. Mr. Razor tells us of his family composition which consisted of his mother, himself and two brothers, one of whom suffers from mental retardation and was hydrocephalic. When the state social service stepped in and ruled that Peters mother was woefulness from confusion and unable to care for her children they sent her and Leonard to an asylum. Some relatives took Peters brother, Arnold, but would non take Peter because they maintenanceed that he would turn out like Leonard, Peters mentally retarded brother. This sealed Peters fate, and at whole seventeen months old he was committed to the area universal School at Owatonna. Throughout Peters last out at the State School, he suffered many instances of abuse at the hands of those who were reflectd to be safe caregivers.

The shocking statistics that flowed from this indoctrinate were somewhat chilling in relation to the purpose they were suppose to serve. Those three years old or younger suffered a higher death rate that the older children death from ecumenical debility or simply wasted away, the records say (Razor 8).
