Foundations of Mythology Short Answers
How is the word myth utilise popularly? For example, what does the statement, its a myth mean? In contrast, how is the word myth used in the academic setting? After considering the definition in your textbooks and course materials, write a definition in your own words.
The word myth is a story, assembly, or tale that is traditional or legendary in a sense that there are no judicable facts or evidence to prove the event or soul to be of anything more than a natural phenomenon. Myths are a sort of testimony and reason for wherefore we as cosmos do the things that we do, why we believe in the things we believe in as the truth. When the term myths is used in society we melt to relate it to an idea or expression that is factual partially because from generation to generation the same story, tale or fable was told and past down like a family heirloom.. We as valet train to believe in something, we need logic to why we behave in the manner that we do (Leonard & McClure, 2004)

Myths of different cultures seem to inhibit a similar trait of belief and the universal human need to understand why we exist, what is our purpose and why we do the things we do and behave in the manner that we behave. The belief of an existence of a tale or a higher being is til now relevant, just perceived in a different way. It is human nature to want to believe in phenomenal power, the make impact of a significant figure that exudes extraordinary and metaphysical powers articulates a common belief that all humans set out themselves to the idea of a higher power (Leonard & McClure, 2004)
